The German Nutrition Society confirmed that vegetable oils carry significant health benefits resulting from their content of unsaturated fatty acids and multiple unsaturated fatty acids in addition to secondary plant compounds. Vegetable oils extracted by cold pressing contain a greater amount of valuable substances such as vitamins, fatty acids, and secondary plant compounds.
The German Society pointed out that rapeseed oil is among the most beneficial vegetable oils for health, as it contains a reduced proportion of saturated fatty acids and a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids along with its content of alpha-linolenic acid and vitamin E.
Studies show that rapeseed oil has a positive effect on blood fat levels and blood pressure, as it works to reduce levels of harmful cholesterol and consequently lowers the risk of heart disease and strokes. In addition to that, unsaturated fatty acids provide cellular protection and act as an anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombotic agent. Among other vegetable oils with significant health benefits are: walnut oil, soybean oil, canola oil, and olive oil.
