Hollywood star Cate Blanchett defended art, even when it can be disturbing. At an event held at the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum for Contemporary Art in Berlin, she stated: «Art is in a constant dialogue with the eyes and souls of the people who perceive it, discuss it, remember it, are affected by it, are captivated by it, and rebel against it. We cannot stop art, we cannot silence art, even if people disagree with it completely». The Australian actress explained that places like the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum are indispensable. Cate Blanchett has a special connection to this museum, as she filmed there in 2016 for the movie «Manifesto». Among the guests were also Hollywood actors Matt Dillon and Nina Hoss, director Wim Wenders, and the head of the Berlin International Film Festival, Tricia Tuttle. The event was also attended by many other artists and celebrities. The museum, which is the national gallery of contemporary art, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
