The German Federal Association of Hearing Aid Specialists advises to maintain the efficiency of hearing aids during the winter by cleaning them daily with a soft, lint-free cloth. The association added that condensation is another challenge for hearing aids, as moisture can accumulate inside them, causing damage. To prevent this, hearing aids should not be left near a heater or briefly dried with a hairdryer, as heat can also damage them. It is best to store the hearing aid overnight in a drying box that removes moisture from the device. On the other hand, wearing a very tight head covering should be avoided, as it can cover the hearing aid's microphone or cause it to slip. Therefore, it is better to choose a loose-fitting head covering.
