It is recommended that patients visit a doctor in cases of persistent hoarseness, especially if it is accompanied by difficulty swallowing, increased lymph nodes in the neck or above the collarbone, shortness of breath, changes in voice, recurrent coughing, or constant mucus in the throat, as well as persistent coughing that cannot be explained by ordinary colds.
