
At the event dedicated to German cinema, the film "Heart's Grip" directed by Laura Christ received the main prize — Max Ophüls Award for Best Feature Film. The film is based on the novel by author Stefane Zweig, telling the story of a young soldier who convinces himself that he experiences feelings for women with limited opportunities, leading to misfortunes for all due to his growing loneliness and the emotional distance from the women he has treated.
The film "Heart's Grip" also received two more awards: for Best Actress Debut, which was shared by Julia Pritzi and Ladina von Freishing, and the main prize in the amount of 36,000 euros for Best Feature Film. This event is considered one of the most important in the world of German cinema, gathering participants from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. During the festival, 19 awards were presented, including four audience awards.
57 films participated in the event's competition across four categories: feature film, documentary, medium-length film, and short film.
