A survey conducted by the German Institute for Tourism Research on behalf of the German Tourism Union, covering 1124 people at the end of March, revealed that among participants who had travel plans for Easter or the next three months, 16% changed these plans due to the global political situation. Among those who changed their plans, 46% decided not to take a tourist trip, while 32% cancelled their trips completely. Nevertheless, the desire to travel remains high, with about 72% of Germans planning to take at least one tourist trip within the country or abroad between April and June 2026.
