CSU Aims to Make Germany Europe's Space Center

The Christian Social Union (CSU) in Bavaria aims to make Germany a space center for Europe and a driving force for innovative technologies. In a draft resolution, which the party's parliamentary group plans to adopt at its winter meeting in the Abbey of Zell in the state of Bavaria, it is stated: 'The next industrial revolution is happening in space, we want Germany to develop the first „space academy“.' Alexander Dobrindt, chairman of the party's parliamentary group, said: 'We want to make Germany the leading technology state that competes for global leadership.' He added: 'Through the high-tech agenda, we are investing heavily in key technologies such as artificial intelligence.' The draft also states that blood vessels can be printed more stably through 3D printing in space: 'In this way, we want to reduce the need for human organs such as hearts and revolutionize organ transplantation.' It points out that space could become 'an engine for life-saving innovations'.
