The German government intends to stimulate the construction sector by reactivating the program for supporting new housing, which was very popular before it was canceled years ago. It is planned to allocate 800 million euros to support energy-efficient homes of the «EH55» class, starting from mid-December. These buildings consume only 55% of the energy required by a traditional house. The previous German government canceled this support in 2022, arguing that this energy standard had become common in the market. At that time, it decided to support a stricter and more expensive standard — energy efficiency class «40». As a result, many investors froze their plans to build «EH55» homes.
