The country Germany is usually associated with industry, economic aspects, and other things that seem far from artistic perception.
It is quite possible that this stereotype will soon be reformed. The art created by German artists has proven itself valuable enough that one of the largest auction companies in the world has decided to add it to its arsenal. Christie's announced that for the first time in its history, it will sell German artworks at auction in London.
Among the works that will be up for sale are famous paintings and graphics by artists such as Anselm Kiefer and Günther Förg. Such artists have long received international recognition, and their works are objects of attention for collectors and art connoisseurs from all over the world.
"We are pleased to see how our works are appreciated by our British friends and colleagues," said the representative of one of the German art galleries.
