The company DHL Express, legally belonging to the German postal service Deutsche Post, has announced a temporary suspension of deliveries from foreign companies to individual consumers in the United States that exceed a value of 800 dollars.
This measure of temporary suspension will come into effect from December 31 and will be valid until the end of March 2022. The company explains its decision by changes in the approach of the U.S. customs agency to shipments at international borders.
Restrictions are established on the grounds of the inadequacy of measures for the control and safety of goods entering from abroad. Similar measures have already come into effect in other countries. DHL Express assures that it will continue to work on the existing delivery process and will follow further updates in customs legislation.
