Labor Strikes at Major Airports in Germany

The German trade union VD publicly announced that workers at major airports are in a state of readiness for a one-day strike on Thursday. The measures, supported by union workers, are organized within the framework of demands for improved working conditions and increased wages. As specified by the VD representative, the strike is scheduled for March 3 and will cover only the largest airports in the country, including Frankfurt-on-Main, Munich, and Düsseldorf.

"We were forced to take such decisive measures after negotiations with employers did not yield the desired results," the VD stated. The unions planned to negotiate a new tariff and other working conditions, but the negotiations stalled. Union representatives assert that the strike will be carried out in compliance with all established legal rules and restrictions.

As a result of the one-day strike, passengers may face delays and cancellations of flights. At this time, airport representatives have not commented on the potential consequences of the action for air transportation.
