Deutsche Bank Reports Weaker Than Expected Profits

The largest bank in Germany, Deutsche Bank, announced a less successful profit than expected for the last quarter of 2024. The net profit attributable to shareholders was 106 million euros ($110.4 million) in the fourth quarter, compared to the expected 282.4 million euros. The payout amounted to 7.22 billion euros in the last quarter, exceeding expectations by 7.125 billion euros; however, it suffered due to legal expenses totaling 594 million euros.

This result was significantly lower than the 1.461 billion euros earned in the third quarter. The bank stated that it now aims to reduce the ratio of expenses to income.
