Carrillo Cabrera, a renowned Mexican dancer, will succeed Tadeusz Matacz, who has led the school for more than 27 years.
Elisa Carrillo Cabrera, an accomplished dancer and recognized First Dancer, has an extensive background in the world of dance. Born in Mexico, she completed her training in ballet at the National School of Classical Dance of Mexico. She then joined the Stuttgart Ballet as an apprentice, rising to the corps de ballet in the 2000/2001 season. In addition to her role at the John Cranko School, Carrillo Cabrera also serves as Co-Artistic Director of the National Dance Company of Mexico and is a member of the International Dance Council (CID) of UNESCO.
Under Tadeusz Matacz's leadership, the John Cranko School has solidified its international reputation, training outstanding dancers who have joined the most important companies in the world.
