The article describes an accident in epilepsy, complicating the lives of many people. Doctor Yulia Khobe from the University Hospital Hamburg's neurology clinic explained that simple cases of this disorder are treated with anti-epileptic drugs, which prevent the excessive activity of nerve cells in the brain and reduce the likelihood of seizures.
Epilepsy, one of the most widespread neurological disorders, significantly changes the lives of patients due to the increased brain activity. "Many nerve cells release their electrical charge too quickly," said Dr. Yulia.
Yulia Khobe also noted that characteristic symptoms of epilepsy include seizures, non-controlled movements, and postictal states. Additionally, vision impairments, cognitive processes disruptions, sensory loss, and in some cases, even loss of consciousness can occur.
In many cases, epilepsy does not respond adequately to treatment with medications.
