Friedrich Merz, a potential candidate for the position of Chancellor of Germany, announced today, on Monday, that he has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the country.
According to Merz, the invitation letter was sent to Netanyahu following a telephone conversation between them. The politician noted that such a visit would be a good opportunity to discuss important issues, including security and the economy.
"I proposed to Netanyahu to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest for Germany and Israel," Merz noted.
