The German company BMW reported a decrease in net profit of more than a third in 2024 to 7.68 billion euros (8.32 billion dollars). This corresponds to market expectations.
This decline in profits is partly explained by the deteriorating situation in the automotive market, noted the company. However, sales of new BMW vehicles rose by 180 million euros to 110.8 billion euros. As it is reported, this is related to the increased sales volumes of electric cars.
"Our results in 2024 demonstrate the strength of our business and its sustainability in challenging conditions," remarked the head of BMW.
The company continues to invest in the future, especially in the development of electric vehicles. BMW plans to increase its range of electric vehicles to 17 models by 2024.
