German Automakers Seek Competitive Edge Amid Trade Tensions

It is widely known that German automobile companies bring significant value to the economy of their country. They strive to strengthen their competitiveness in the conditions of increasing market pressures and intensify efforts to reduce dependence on components and software solutions produced in China.

Mercedes-Benz, according to a source that does not disclose its identity, aims to develop cars with automated driving capabilities for global markets, equipping them with lidar equipment from the Chinese manufacturer HISYS. This is the first case where a foreign automobile company seeks to use such technology, produced in China, in models sold beyond the borders of China.
