Bayern Munich suffered its first defeat in the German football league in 10 months, losing 1-2 to visiting Augsburg in the 19th round. This came just three days after securing qualification to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. For Bayern, this is the second defeat of the season in all competitions, following the loss to Arsenal on December 26, and the first in the Bundesliga since March. It is also Bayern's first defeat at the Allianz Arena since April 2025. With this loss, Bayern's points total froze at 50, maintaining their lead but with an 11-point gap over Borussia Dortmund. Augsburg, on the other hand, achieved a surprising victory, their first after three draws and two defeats. Japanese defender Hiroki Ito opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a header from a Mikael Cuisance corner. However, Augsburg quickly equalized through Arthur Chaves after a mistake by goalkeeper Jonas Urbeg. Han-Noa Masengo sealed the win for the visitors in the 81st minute, making the final score 1-2.
