Last evening, the UAE Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany, in collaboration with ADNOC, XRG, and Masdar, and with the support of the German-Emirati Business Council, hosted a reception on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. The event was attended by Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy to the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to Germany Ahmed Al Attar, and over 300 business leaders, policymakers, government officials, and prominent partners from across Europe. In his speech at the event, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said: "In line with the leadership's vision, the UAE is focused on building quality partnerships that contribute to supporting stability and fostering growth across various sectors. Today, energy security stands as a cornerstone for ensuring global security, which underscores the necessity of building robust and long-term partnerships more than ever before. Through our companies ADNOC, XRG, and Masdar, the UAE continues to contribute to enhancing the resilience of Europe's energy system by diversifying supplies, expanding investments, and reinforcing sustainable industrial cooperation frameworks." The UAE's investments in the energy and industrial sectors in Germany have exceeded €18 billion, with plans to increase them to around €30 billion in the coming decade. The combined value of investments by the three companies exceeds €38 billion in the energy and industrial sectors across the continent. Germany represents a cornerstone in this partnership, with the two nations linked by strong economic relations that drive innovation, enhance industrial competitiveness, and support sustainable growth. The reception follows a visit last week to the UAE by Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, during which Masdar and ADNOC signed agreements with RWE aimed at enhancing Germany's energy security. The reception also included remarks from Ahmed Al Attar and Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder, highlighting the UAE's significant role as a trusted partner, long-term investor, and active contributor to bolstering European energy security. The UAE takes pride in being a trusted partner to Germany and Europe at large, and we reaffirm our commitment to continuing efforts to strengthen energy security and drive economic development."
