Liverpool visited the German Red Bull Leipzig this Wednesday as part of the third matchday of the Champions League, which has introduced a new format. The match took place at the Red Bull Arena at 4 PM Argentina time and was broadcast live on Fox Sports and Disney+. The English team came into the match with two wins in two games played.

As for the probable line-ups of RB Leipzig vs Liverpool, Leipzig presented Péter Gulácsi; Lutsharel Geertruida, Willi Orban, Castello Lukeba, David Raum; Christoph Baumgartner, Nicolas Seiwald, Amadou Haidara, Xavi Simons; Loïs Openda and Benjamin Šeško under the technical management of Arne Slot.

Liverpool, on the other hand, lined up Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konaté, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai; Mohamed Salah, Luis Díaz, and Darwin Núñez, under the technical management of Marco Rose.

Regarding the new format of the Champions League for this edition, UEFA has implemented significant changes. Instead of 32 participants divided into eight groups of four, there are now 36 teams in a league stage where eight different matches are played, half at home and the other half away. At the end of this stage, all teams are positioned on an overall table, and the top eight qualify directly for the round of 16, while the teams placed ninth to twenty-fourth compete in a playoff round to determine the last eight qualifiers. Those teams finishing from 25th place onward will be eliminated and will have no option to play in the Europa League.

The match between RB Leipzig and Liverpool was broadcast in Argentina on Fox Sports and the Disney+ platform, with the possibility to follow it also through Flow, Directv Go, and Telecentro Play.
