About 3,000 soldiers participated in maneuvers led by German General Ingo Gerhartz. The exercises involved Eurofighter jets, 15 vessels, as well as Spanish combat divers and Turkish units using German vehicles. Thousands of NATO troops held exercises on Wednesday on Germany's Baltic coast. Military officials described the maneuvers as a demonstration of readiness to deter Russia. Naval forces, in particular, trained on controlling a beach at the Putlos training ground near the coastal city of Kiel as part of the larger "Steadfast Dart 2026" exercises. The purpose of these maneuvers is to test the Alliance's ability to rapidly move forces across NATO territory.
