
As reported by the police press service, yesterday evening a train carrying about 700 fans of the Rot-Weiss Essen team was attacked by unknown individuals. According to the press service, the incident occurred around 7:00 PM local time during the train's journey from Geldernkirchen to Mülheim-Ardenberg. According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers fired stones and pyrotechnics at the train. There were no known injuries from the incident, but some passengers were in shock and received minor injuries. In connection with the reported incident, immediately after the attack, the attackers fled. "This was a traumatic experience for our fans, who just wanted to attend a football match. We hope that those responsible will be apprehended and will face consequences," expressed hope the representative of Rot-Weiss Essen after the incident.
