Experts from the Institute confirm that radio-synchronized time, standard time, and many industrial times in Mainz, not far from Frankfurt, receive signals via a long-wave transmitter known as "DCF77". The head of the working group on time regulation in Lower Saxony, Dirk Bieister, stated: "Everything should proceed as usual... We were prepared."

The transition to winter time in Europe took place at the beginning of yesterday morning, when the clocks were set back to start operating on standard time, also known as winter time, until March 30, 2025. The aim of these changes is more effective use of daylight during the short winter days in the northern hemisphere.

The signal for the automatic time transition in Germany comes from the Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology located in the town of Braunschweig in the north of the country.
