German Foreign Minister Johann Wadefohl said on Thursday that resolving security issues related to the strategically important Strait of Hormuz can only be achieved through diplomatic channels. Wadefohl, speaking at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, said: "Together, we must find a way to end this war and at the same time reach a preliminary idea of what the future security architecture of the region should look like." He added during a visit to Turkey: "A sustainable and reliable solution can only be achieved through diplomatic channels, which is why I believe we must focus on our common interests in the Gulf region, and also here in our neighborhood."
