In the town of Ashaffenburg in Germany, a horrific attack occurred in the public park Schontal, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including one child, while several others sustained serious injuries. Initial reports clarified that the victims were three adults and one child; however, it was later confirmed that two people died, including the child, according to information from the Bild newspaper.
The police managed to detain a suspect in the crime and stated that there were no suspicions relating to other individuals. Train services at the southern Ashaffenburg station were temporarily suspended following an attempted escape by the perpetrator through the railroad tracks.
It should be noted that in November of last year, Schontal park was marked as a location for surveillance. Notably, the crime in the park occurred around 11:45 in the morning local time and, according to police statements, cold weapons were used in the incident.
